Gilbert High School students protest Good Friday classes
We need more people who will take a stand. I give much props to them students. I have to wonder if they are saved to the bone and living for Jesus Christ or they just want another day off? If anyone knows, please comment to this.

Well, I don't know any of these teenager's personally however, If I wasn't saved I wouldn't be charged with an unexcused absence for the heck of it, so maybe they are saved? Or at least know enough about Jesus dying for our sins to take the risk of getting that unexcused absence, Who know but whatever the case is, looks like the government is just that much closer of removing GOD from our schools? Ten years ago, when I was in the Mesa district we had this day observed. Now they don't. A parent has to check you out of class to "observe a RELIGIOUS holiday". It's not about religiosity, IS IT?
What did we want when we were in school? Do you really think they want this day for worship? I think not. they had a taste of spring break and I think they want another day. Or this can be another reason for these kids to protest something, Kids today love to go against adults or authority for any reason, this is were rebelion comes from. Not just their parents but all adult athority. All you need is one kid to influence others and we have a rebel. sounds crazy, no it has been around for years. but if you really look at things who really is the rebel here? the Goverment or Gods people. every one wants to change the world and make it better. but what will make it better? some say God will make it better. But last I read that the earth belongs to the Devil and that we have to prove ourselves to the lord that we can live here in his name and be blessed when he comes for us. I would rather die living for God and knowing there is no God when I pass on, than not live for God and find out there is a God.
Lets not forget what day is today. Remember right now while your sitting at your computer or just taking it easy and waiting for the weekend to get here, there was a man 2005 years ago in a world of pain (Christ our lord) do you think he was planning a BB-Q or go and hide some eggs or something. NO !!! he was getting beat down and baring so much pain so that he can prove to his Father that we are good people. and I have forgotten that. Does this mean Im going to run to a church and confess my sins. No I will get down and pray to my lord on my own and he will give me direction. Some might not agree with this but I put it in Gods hands and he will deal with in his own way. I have much more to say but I have to get back to work, I am interested to hear what every body has to say... I can be e-mail directly phatkatt404@yahoo.com
What Omar said is true. Lots of kids will just protest to get out of class. what is one little unexcused absence when the majority of them ditch class and dont really care anyways?? They are all probably just trying to get one more day off out of it. there might be a few true ones who want to stand up for whats right and have that day to celebrate the death of christ but most really dont care. its sad that they dont see because of his death we now have a chance at life.
Well I would agree, however if that is all we do is put down these teenagers and not give them the benefit of doubt then how would we ever know if they are serious, rarely do I see kids go protest about a "religious" holiday, maybe there are some teenager's out there who really are trying to seek God, remember it was only 100 teenager's if it was a hoaxed don't you think there may have been more than that to defiantly pass that day off, that we assume they want, Im sure there is more than 100 teenagers in that school that would prefer a day off right, so I would have to give them the benefit of doubt that they may be sincere, right Omar you're a teenager and we believe you sincerely are serving God and not just in church for all the "wrong" reasons. Who know unless these teenagers speak for themselves. Me, almost in the range of raising teenagers soon, would hope that by my example and pastor's leadership that they two would remember what a day like today or Easter Sunday really signifies. I just can't pass judgment on 100 teenagers for what they are protesting seeing most teenager's wouldn't even do that. ??? who know's. Maybe someday the teenager's at our church can do some type of survey within their schools and see how close we can get to the real truth to what teenagers seem to thing a day like this signifies?? What do you think?
