Used By God

This message is from Greg Laurie with Harvest Ministries:

Serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Joshua 22:5

The greatest moment in my life clearly was the day that I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. It's a day I just won't forget--it changed the course of my life.

I wanted to try to make up for the years I had wasted up to that point. I wanted to learn more about God; I wanted to have a relationship with Him. I couldn't get enough. What was happening in my life was God was changing me. I wanted to reach out to other people with the message of the gospel. I wanted God to use me.

When the Israelites had entered the Promised Land, Joshua exhorted them "to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul" (Joshua 22:5). That was what I have wanted to do.

As I have often said, next to being a Christian, the greatest joy I know of in this life is serving the Lord, and having God direct your steps. It amazes me that the Creator of the universe, the Almighty God would condescend to work in my life. It is totally amazing. It is the highest privilege conceivable that God wants to use us.

I was thinking about the song that we sing in church, "You're all I need"(I think thats the name of it) and when you really think about what that songs says it changes your view on everything, on your job, in your life, and in your relationship with Jesus Christ. The songs says SO MANY DISTRACTIONS, SO MANY ATTRACTIONS that pull us away and lead us astray, and thats so true
but if we really want to Love God with all our hearts we have to really give all these things up like all these material things and we are all guilty of that, I really thank God for My Pastor Richard Romero because he lives what this song says, his heart is so SOLD OUT to Jesus that I admire and want to be like him, he never looks at the material things but he's always looking to help dying SOULS!!!!

I would like to add to what Eddie commented on. We do have a Pastor that is living what he preaches. We need more men like him. I can say that Pastor Romero has a heart for souls and a heart that follows Jesus Christ.

I agree we do have a great pastor. Never beforein the different chusrches or religiongs that I have been around have I seen a Pastor that has so much respect from His church. I feel I can learn alot from him. He is one of the very few Pastor's that has been in the same situations as most of us, so he knows where we are coming from. I am honored to know such a man and look forward to all hie preachings to come.

I read these emails from time to time and i try to understand what point of view and what angle people try to present there message and how they want it to come across. I also have the privelige to attend The Potters House in Mesa where Pastor Romero Ministers. Im not here to lift him up but you have to understand the reason you hear these comments is that this man does teach what the word says, and that is the great commission and go and make diciples of men. He instills that same vision into the congregation dont follow man but follow Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Bible says Without a vision people perish. The problem with people these days they are to worried about things that dont even matter. they get insurance for there house, cars, Health, Life Insurance. there is nothing wrong with that but what about insurance for your soul each and everyone of us need to read the scriptures for ourselves. read Romans 10:8-9 do it for yourself because at the end you will have no one but yourself to blame, without Jesus Christ you have nothing.
